School Profile

Lake Travis High School (LTHS) is a 6A comprehensive high school serving approximately 3,500 students in grades 9 through 12. There are more than 70 student clubs and organizations. In addition, a strong athletic program offers participation in 17 competitive sports. Students also have the opportunity to participate in band, drill team, cheerleading, choir, orchestra, debate, theater, UIL academics, and other fine arts programs.

LTHS operates on an alternating block format with four 90-minute classes meeting every other day. Four grading periods or terms comprise the school year. Terms 1 and 2 make up the fall semester from August to December, while Terms 3 and 4 make up the spring semester from January to June. Most courses will meet every other day, all year (36 weeks). If a course is double-blocked, it will meet every day, all year and consume two of the eight total blocks.

Lake Travis High School offers more than 210 courses utilizing a multi-level curriculum designed to meet the needs of each student. Fourteen Pre-AP and 26 Advanced Placement courses are offered in English, math, science, social studies, computer science, other languages, music and art. A variety of career and technical education courses are offered on our campus. A special education life skills program is available to meet the needs of identified students.
