The PC and Gameboy Color versions differ quite greatly in terms of gameplay and overall style. A brief overview of each can be found below:
Gameplay of the PC version of the game consists of the player controlling a model Hot Wheels vehicle on a life size interpretation of a Hot Wheels track across multiple levels and environments. The player controlled portion of the gameplay is rudimentary, and consists of the player using the arrow keys on their keyboard to slide a basic 3d model of a Hot Wheels car left and right along a pre-rendered cutscene of a track. The purpose of this action is to loosely guide the car around corners and avoid hitting walls and obstacles, as walls will slow down the car and sometimes cause a crash, and obstacles (In the form of environmental hazards and other Hot Wheels cars) will cause the player car to crash and take up time being placed back on the track. The player can also utilize the Shift and Ctrl keys on their keyboard to perform rolls and flips. Chaining these together and successfully landing the car on all 4 wheels after performing these counts as a "Stunt". Stringing together long combos of flips and rolls before landing will net you a large speed boost, and is necessary to unlock certain cars that have a set "stunt goal" criteria.
There are 3 game modes to choose from the main menu:
(Or close proximity)
There are 7 tracks in total within the game, 4 are already unlocked at the beginning of the game and the other 3 are unlocked by playing the championship mode.
